The crew went above and beyond to make us completely satisfied with the workmanship in the dealership, and provide us with a safe and sound building to last for years to come. We chose Lakeland Custom Homes for our addition turning our camp into our retirement home. In 2015 we needed to consider major renovation work on our property to stop and prevent further damage to the foundation of our home. We also decided to improve the outside appearance of our house while repairs were being completed.

After consultation with staff at Lakeland and viewing their work performed on neighbouring properties in and around Elliot Lake we decided that they were the only local firm qualified to manage our project from design to completion. Lakeland’s degree of professionalism and service quickly put any fears we had to rest. The work was completed on time, on budget and with very little trouble. Now, three years later, the work is still in an “as new” condition.

Cathyann and I had a vision of our home on Popeye Lake in Elliot Lake and Lakeland Custom Homes made our vision come to life. Each and every day we awake to the beauty coming into our home from outdoors and revel in the beauty within.

We worked with Home Hardware’s Beaver Homes and Cottages to turn our dream into a plan. Now we had to find a contractor to bring it to life.

We met with Jason Wilcox and Patricia Tucker of Lakeland Custom Homes and their quotes, ideas and employment standards felt like a good fit. Indeed, it was a good fit.

Our home is stunning, melding with the lake and forest environment. Jay and his staff made that happen. They worked as a team with good humour, commitment to hard work and the goal of creating as fine a product as possible. Jay and Pat were right on with their recommendations of sub-contractors. Cathyann felt that sometimes it was difficult for her to articulate her involved idea however Jay and his crew would listen and find a way to create it. I was new to the area and looking for a General Contractor/Home Builder to help with the construction of my new home on Dunlop Shores Road. With a few bad choices to begin with I was then given the opportunity to meet Jay, from Lakeland Custom Homes. He came out to the site with a contractor I had used for clearing my property. He provided me with a quote for finishing a job that was already started by another contractor, and he also gave me a quote on specific jobs that I wanted done. I had another quote provided by another contractor and they were very similar in price. The problem was availability and timing. Jay and the crew came in and did the jobs required. They did exactly what I wanted done, with professionalism and expertise. The knowledge and confidence held by the workers was seen in all the work they provided. They were polite, friendly, knowledgeable and hard working. They were on time, they did everything they were asked to do and the workmanship was excellent. They are a company that is trustworthy, responsible, pays attention to details, listens to the home builder, and above all is honest. During our search for a builder for our retirement home we heard many great things about the quality of workmanship from Jason and his crew. After meeting with Jason and Pat we knew that Lakeland Custom Homes was the company we had been looking for. They were straight forward, approachable and very knowledgeable. Lakeland's portion of our build was completed last year and we couldn't be happier with the result. Jason delivered exactly what we dreamt and planned for. Throughout the build Pat did a wonderful job keeping us up-to-date with email, phone calls and photos of the whole build. That was very important to us as we were unable to be there in person for most of it. Throughout the build, and even afterwards, Jason and Pat have responded quickly to any questions or concerns we had. Building a home when you are not able to be on site can be a stressful venture but the people at Lakeland made it relatively easy due to the fact that they were always available and willing to help. Jason and his crew did an exceptional job with the build and Pat kept me up to date on the progress. It was great to see my vision go up bit by bit....the updates and photos made this possible without my having to be on site 

Well, I don't even remember how I met Jason, but sure glad I did. I do know that he was new to town and he had been helping out other local contractors build some of my neighbours cottages. Me, being a little on the nosey side, would go over and see how things were progressing. I began to notice that it was Jason taking the lead on most aspects of the construction. He had been working on one specific place down the lake when I approached him and asked him to be the lead builder in the constructon of our home away from home. He accepted. We had a few sit down visits to go over the details and he said, "Get the stuff there and I'll get it built". Well, within 8 days from start to finish, from framing to shingles, the job was done. People were watching from the other side of the lake with binoculars - they couldn't believe what they were witnessing! He would tell me things to do and I would want to question why but soon figured out that he knew his stuff. He framed the entire front wall in a matter of a few hours. It took 8 of us to stand it up. Everything just fit like a glove. My wife was shocked when she came out to "Inspect". Everything went so good and fast. I had taken a month off of work and managed to get some time in fishing and help build the cottage! Don't tell my wife Lynn! I have checked out almost all the cottages in the area that have been built by Jason and been built by others and there is no question in my mind, I would hire Jason in a heartbeat for any type of construction work.

My wife Dale and I have been working on the design of our cottage on Dunlop Lake for the past 4 years. Being a licensed carpenter, I naturally wanted some intricate framing incorporated into the design of our cottage. After a long search and some failed attempts with other contractors, we lucked out when we finally got in touch with Jason. We instantly hit it off seeing as we both spoke the same language. Hiring Lakeland Custom Homes has turned a logistically tough project into something we enjoyed doing. The intricate design was not a problem for Jason and his crew and we look forward to working with them in the near future. 

We selected Jason to build our new cottage based upon his previous projects that we had viewed. Jason was readily available to meet with us on the weekends as we lived quite a distance away. Being such a distance away we wanted to deal with one company that could do everything for us and more importantly provide us with peace of mind. Jason certainly did that! Each week he emailed us pictures and even came under budget. Jason, Ryan and Shannon were a great team!!

We are so pleased with the work Jason and his crew have done for us. Jason took the time to meet with us at our home to discuss all the details well in advance. The whole crew was on site every day. When bad weather came , Jason and his crew made sure all the materials and the building were well protected. Our dream cottage is perfect, exactly what we pictured. Jason takes pride in every detail.
